Engine and Performance
The new Volkswagen ID.Buzz will include single and double electric motors. The rear motor model will deliver a horsepower of 201 hp and torque of 229 lb.-ft. In contrast, the dual-motor model will deliver up to 295 hp and 339 lb.-ft torque.
The European model currently includes a 77 kWh battery pack. However, it’s expected for the Canadian model to have a larger pack. Additionally, the van has a DC charging hub, allowing you to charge the vehicle from 5% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
Once the microbus is fully charged, you may expect an electric driving range of over 418 km.
The electric motor will include a maximum towing capacity of 1,000 kg and is set to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 10.5 seconds.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The spacious microbus fits up to seven passengers in three rows, with comfortable legroom and seat fabrics that are convenient for everyone. The cabin is accessible by power sliding doors from both sides, making it easy to load and unload or get on and off.
The ID.Buzz van has vast spaces for cargo and extra luggage of 1,121 L behind the second row. Moreover, when it comes to the entire area behind the first row and after folding the rear seats, you can get a 2,123 L cargo space.
The cabin has more convenient features, including folding tables, a removable console for easier access and massage options for the front seaters.
Technology, Infotainment and Connectivity
A 10-inch infotainment screen is on the front, with a built-in connection to Apple and Android devices. You can opt-in to a larger infotainment screen of 12 inches and enjoy additional benefits.
Moreover, there will be multiple USB ports and a WiFi hotspot to play your favourite music, besides a wireless charging zone to charge your phone.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Several systems ensure driving this vehicle is fun and safe—the ID.Buzz will have a parking assist system with memory options.
